Cruising Pinterest

The internet has revolutionized the way we access information. We aren't limited to flipping through magazines to find inspiration, rather we can click-through Pinterest for an hour. It's embarrassing how many mindless hours I spend on Pinterest – the image-centric platform is excellent for wasting time and curating ideas.

Workout Wear

Two serious seasons are right around the corner – wedding and bikini season. I love the beach almost as much as I love a romantic wedding, which means this is the time of year that I take my fitness fairly seriously. Gone are the nights of red wine and pizza.

Prepping for Wedding Season

Yesterday I RSVP'd to two weddings – kicking off the first of many for 2014 wedding season. The weddings are back-to-back in late June, a month typically offering warm temperatures and long, sunny days.

Looking ahead to wedding season, I am prepping in two key ways:

For the Birds

My Saturday's are reserved for errands. While this may sound daunting, I actually look forward to my Saturday routine.

After going to the gym, we run our errands, usually taking a mid-day break for a quick bite to eat and a well-deserved drink. If it weren't for this pit stop I would likely not dress up as much on the weekend. However, knowing we are going to stop somewhere and not just flying through with shopping carts is all the motivation I need to look put-together.

Prelude to the Birds

I love a good story and I undoubtedly have the gift-of-gab.

Shockingly, I rarely spoke until Grade 3. Until Grade 3 I was a momma's-girl and couldn't go anywhere without her holding my hand. This led to her attending Junior Kindergarten twice.

Spring Trenches

I grew up in Northwestern Ontario – not only are winter's cold, but the longest season. When I moved to Southern Ontario I quickly embraced shorter winters, even if that meant rainy springs.

A good trench always makes a rainy day brighter. My last 'trench coat' may have been fashion-forward, however it was the furthest thing from practical. Realistically, the only thing that classified it as a trench was the belt and double-breast. It was waist-length, 3/4 length sleeves, and lacked a hood. Even with an umbrella I was soaked.

Welcome to Stylish Seasons

I absolutely love living in Canada, specifically because of the four seasons. The warm summer days, crisp yet colourful falls, snow covered winters, and flowery springs – the beautiful transitions are undeniably gorgeous.

However, dressing for success through four seasons can prove to be a challenge.

Sure, there are some upsides. I have four very distinct wardrobes, differing in both colour and texture. Going from -40 weather to +30 weather isn't exactly conducive for a professional uniform, easily varied by a statement necklace or new blazer, throughout the year. Instead, fashionably navigating four seasons requires thoughtful purchases (and a large closet).

Through Stylish Seasons I will guide you through my seasonal wardrobe woes, how to transition your wardrobe each season, and how to dress professionally – while still appropriately – for each of the four seasons.
